Not very ethical

Pros

My coworkers were very nice and friendly. There is a family environment and they try to socialize outside of work.

Cons

There are some nutjobs that you wouldn't know unless you're in the middle of it. My co-workers and I had numerous complaints against our management. But nothing was done and no explanation was given to us.

Pros

Great teams, strong work ethic, tries to be creative and have journalistic integrity

Cons

Entrenched bureaucracy, employees seem expendable. Some don't have solid grasp of journalistic ethics. Poor benefits and pay.

Opportunities Abound

Pros

Crain's leadership is working very hard to bring in the talent that will increase innovation and invest in technology that will enable all of us to do our best work. This 100 year-old company is still family owned and it shows (in a good way). While I feel extremely supported by my manager, am given fantastic work assignments, and am compensated competitively for the market, the number one thing that keeps me cemented at Crain is the work/life balance. WIthout a doubt, Crain leadership cares about the well-being of their people and their communities.

Cons

It takes a lot of patience to create momentum and changes in a 100 year-old company. Still, it's worth it.
