Great journalistic ethics and quality editorial teams, talented sales management, very strong publication brands in their respective markets. Family-owned company that offers generous benefits.

Cons

Struggles by both editorial and sales to shake free of print journalism mindset in new media age, uneven success among portfolio of publications. Marketing by some brands is way behind the curve.

Pros

Spent almost 17 years at Crain. It was a great place to work. Very family friendly environment. Not a lot of the typical red tape you have to deal with at larger corporations.

Cons

Medium size business. Not a lot of room for advancement. Their business is publishing trade magazines and I'm not sure if they are prepared for the continued shift to digital.
