Pros

Working at this Company, has it's Pros. In order to like this job; one must like patrolling, responding, and using your laptop attached on a car mount to provide the tools necessary for all of your written reports, directions to targeted locations, and vital and crucial information about where your going, how your suppossed to safely execute your directive task, and rely on the information based on the monitor is not only acurate and updated; but also uploads quickly. This is ideally how it should be....... We do have the laptop on car mounts, the systems we use are above average, the uploading speed is progressively getting much better and faster as new monitors( Google tablets and wireless air cards) have been greatly improved. Sadly; the information on the majority of everything we as Supervisors have to rely on for acurate information is both not updated on a weekly basis, let alone daily for some particular targeted areas, and the desired outcome is way below par as far as the information which is imputed for us to follow. Another Pro to this company , is the fact, one must like working independently and not afraid of falling behind. Time management is essential. Self leadership qualities are a must and when out in the field; despite management rather not have us implement this aspect, the fact that discretion is at the hands of all supervisors at any given moment. This company does have high potential for immediate and long term success under the right individuals in charge of this highly imperative investment. This company is a great stepping stone for those who exhibit outstanding work ethics, good decision making, and overall high performance and reliability who in turn, shows interest in receiving "help" into being accepted into a multitude of surrounding Law enforcement Agencies on a whim. This job is actually a very good job and one can easily fall into the "comfort zone" of just having a job; instead of the heartache of trying to look for another one that may fit your needs better. The co workers are a good core bunch with different life experiences and knowledge they bring to the table and it exhibits out in the field.

Cons

The biggest issues of this company is the pay factor they provide for the work they not only want; but expect. The pay is an embarassing low rate and many co workers have to have second and hird jobs to just stay afloat. Other Departments are paid extremely well and are taken care of as far as good benes. There is no leadership amoung the management staff, with the exception of only one manager. There is never any backing, support, or any "atta boys" for a job well done that gets done by every single one of us on a daily, sometimes, an hours basis. It is just "get it done" and we often perceive that we are just "expendable"; yet they actually need us at our level. There is alot of favortism from the mgr in charge of the Department. Whenever there is promotional opportunities, better Shifts, or even request for time off or accommindate for other needs; depends all on who the individual is and if this particular manager is in good graces with him/ her. There is never emails or postings to make all employees aware of such opportunities. Having seniority means nothing with this manager and with the upper management. The benefit package is very inadequate because with the low pay rate, it is hard to accept the package and expect to live . The is never any motivation, request to have monthly meetings are placed on deaf ears, and it seems management encourages strife amoung the staff. The Dispatcher Department is essential and pertinent for the smooth running and safety of all of the Supervisors out in the field, which is highly unsafe as it is due to not having reliable equipment and vehicles, on top of having no protection tools to aid us in time of crucial circumstances. Instead, they give the Dispatchers full authority to give Hitler like orders without having no knowledge of what it is like to be out in the field, let alone the sites and clients we encounter on a daily and hourly basis. Instead of training the dispatchers to go out in the field first to experience what they are sending others out to; they just sit in a small office looking a monitor. Training is a joke here. New supervisors train new Supervisors, Supervisors are trained on a new Beat/Area/ Sector by being thrown out there blindly and alone. Dispatchers are hired outside, thus, no knowledge what is needed or is expected. Dispatchers have mentality of its "Us against Them" and the management approves of this instead of both departments working insinc to provide even better service and establish unison and a much more higher moral level. The conditions of the vehicles, including the outside appearances are an embarrassment. They are dirty and are unsafe to operate. Bad transmissions, bad baling tires, bad brakes, seldom get service, and gauges are non operatible and they never fix anything for any request we submit such as broken tail lights, dome lights, etc. There is never any backing from upper management towards any of their employees. If there is an incident, then the supervisor must be wrong. There is high turn over rates and this is sad because I see the potential of this being a very successful company.
