Pros
I waited a year to write this review so I could fully absorb the experience before reviewing. This past year with CD has far surpassed my expectations. As a new hire, I was immediately met with a welcoming culture of supportive interdependence, candid transparency and friendly energy. The team values the right answer no matter where or who it comes from, rather than a hierarchy of opinion. From any role, you are able to make an impact and contribute to decisions. The founders give and take feedback openly, with impressive humility/reflection and the goal of improving the company, the team and themselves. If you are looking for a team to support personal and career development, this is a great fit. Aside from this culture and management style, here's a few other pros: -Real growth at a steady pace that you can see in measurable ways all around you -Customer focused and service-oriented in practice, not just rhetoric -Exciting and colorful industry focused on culture, people and passion -Team values diversity of thought, background and contribution -Competitive salary and benefits -Lots of snacks, provided meals and fun team activities around SF! -I have seen all personality types flourish on the team, from rigid introverts to blossoming extroverts everyone is supported and valued for who they are -Team interdependence is balanced with a healthy level of individualism, I am acutely individualistic and do not feel suffocated or limited in my ability to express and operate to my nature -On a personal level, I had a very difficult year and was fully supported and empowered by management to take care of my personal life. This team is truly a family of unique individuals who care for each other and the customer
Cons
-If you're looking for a role where you can develop a stable workflow that doesn't change or only changes every couple of years, this may not be a good fit -If you value pure salary over potential, impact, growth of the company and your personal abilities, a Fortune 500 may suit you better -True to the nature of a lean team at a growing company, you may find yourself doing roles or projects not outlined in your job description - some people love these opportunities, others may see this as a negative -Shortly after joining, you're expected to hit the ground running. Some may find that uncomfortable and demanding -Not as much flexibility as other Bay Area companies on WFH for most roles
