Pros

Excellent learning environment for fresh college graduates. Small workgroups with access to senior managers and partners.

Cons

Billable hours. Many women on "flexible work arrangements" (read: reduced salary) put in many more hours than contracted. Group leaders' inability to plan adequately for implementation of new procedures, software, etc.

Pros

- Great benefits package including 20 days/year paid time off - Good work-life balance - Company culture is good--sponsored outings, training events, etc.

Cons

- Too many managers and not enough staff level consultants - Excessive corporate-ness despite small consulting division--to advance at Crowe you must appear to be a "company man" and spout useless rhetoric. - Tons of layoffs between 2008-2009 - college hires in several cases spent 9 months on the bench and were then fired. - No raises and no bonus because of poor revenues in 2008-2009.

Pros

Employees are friendly and there is minimal competitiveness and very few cliques.

Cons

Management is RIGID. Layoffs and pay cuts without warning, even though the firm is doing well. Double standards in items such as vacation flexibility. Very strong emphasis on chargeability to the point of hypocrisy (we are encouraged to take our PTO when times are slow, but then when we actually request the PTO there is resistance in allowing us to take it). At the same time, there is strong emphasis on business development and other nonchargeable projects, but if we focus on these then we are also reprimanded for not having enough chargeability. Ridiculous review process that makes everyone more and more like a number every year. Very little appreciation for hard work and effort. Management makes misleading statements and is not always honest. Nobody has ever heard of the firm in the marketplace. Very suburban-employee atmosphere. Many of the employees have low ambition since they have family, children, and other priorities. The firm is insanely cheap - they even have people manning the supply room. We receive threatening practicewide emails about not having enough CPE, yet the firm eliminated all external training sponsorship and almost all internal training.
