Pros

Crowley was good in the beginning. The benefits are good. Pay is good.

Cons

No support from management. No one is held accountable for their actions. Training is sink or swim in some departments. If they can find a spot over seas for your job you are replaceable. If you do not have a connection you do not really get noticed or appreciated. Everyone is overwhelmed with work because of layoffs occurring. Do not go to Hr on your boss because although they say its confidential its not. Hr is there for management not anyone else. Even if you are being mistreated. It is hard to get out of the intermodal department. I tried 8 times in my time and because I didnt have a AA degree I wasn't considered. Yet I have more experience in transportation than some of the UNF interns they bring in.

Pros

Crowley is focused on the long term, and not swayed by fads in the market. The people with whom I worked were very collaborative and seemed interested in helping me both for my growth, and as an investment in the future of the company.

Cons

Changes in the organization sometimes seemed to come out of the blue, with little or no warning or indication of a change, and as a result little or no time to plan on the ramifications of the change (i.e., management of change could be improved).

Pros

Good benefits, upper management is really involved, good awards program, managers are usually very knowledgeable and there are a lot of program to help you improve

Cons

Workload is not balanced enough within teams, and everything is extremely controlled by supervisors, other than that nothing else comes to mind
