Operations - Sinking Ship

Pros

Everyone you work with on the ops team is hard working and trying to do what they can to support customers in the face of what’s going on and how they’re being treated.

Cons

Multiple members of the ops team have left to be paid significantly more with better overall positions. Ops/DevOps is undervalued and treated as so. Multiple products are broken and fail frequently causing the operations team to play catch up while solutions to outages are found. Traveling throughout the pandemic has cause multiple office members to contract COVID-19. Very limited COVID-19 precautions throughout the pandemic unless the state/federal government orders a change of policy. A mountain of work continues to build as people leave the operations staff - tickets/projects/customers continue to pile up while operations members are micromanaged. No formal HR. Concerns go directly to the owner and/or new manager. Fear of retaliation and/or pushback.

Good environment good opportunity

Pros

Its a great environment to work in, you are not micromanaged, the ability to get into a stable industry where the opportunities are endless.

Cons

You will need to learn the air freight industry and have knowledge of some IT. Learning both at the same time can be difficult, if your not self motivated it can be tough . Remote work only for one department (development) which could seem unfair to other teams.

Thank you for your kind words. We continue to strive to implement better training programs. We are now breaking the team into smaller specialized groups where more focused training makes it easier to learn.

Breath of fresh air.

Pros

This company is literally a breath of fresh air. Coming from over 10 years at a corporate power house where I wasn't valued and even recognized, Crown Data Systems really makes you feel part of a team and valued. The hours are awesome and this office is one of the best work environments I've been in.

Cons

Other then wishing I hit the lotto and didn't have to work for the rest of my life... This is as good as its going to get. But seriously only real down fall is reliant on the team that is built. I noticed you can find yourself picking up some slack if you have one or two lazy people on the team, although with the group we have that is not an issue.
