Pros

Since its a union job you always have someone who has your back incase management gets on you about something, they're very easy to contact. The call in policy was nice, no need to replace yourself and the hours were overall alright if you weren't a full time cashier- however depending on your store your schedule maker may be misinformed be firm about what you want. The co-workers you meet will be interesting, they'll keep you going through the day/night when you need a pick me up. Its also nice that they have covid 19 pay as well as gift cards for groceries for covid/holidays.

Cons

The pay is poor and do not expect to move up, my grocery manager had no idea I was hired till 3 months in when I said hello to him. Management is overall a very male dominated culture, my store director was great but I don't think he had any idea who he hired as assistant managers.
