Pros

A lot of the folks who started the company are still with the company -- that speaks volumes to their commitment to the company. The 100% employer covered health benefit was great but as the company grows it is likely this benefit will change in the coming years. Decent work-life balance. Most of the client-facing work is administrative and slow-paced. If you need a decent paying job with a pretty simple workload (ie being the driver behind powerpoint presentations), this is a good company for that kind of work.

Cons

The fact that those people are STILL with the company means there is absolutely no room for growth. You either come into the company to be a worker bee or you come in at the VP level bringing a massive contact list the company can use to pursue new work. There are no in-betweens. As a junior-level person, I thought the pay was at or slightly above average. A huge red flag is the absence of annual reviews. If there is no review there is no process to evaluate performance; if there is no process to evaluate performance there is no way to negotiate any sort of pay or position bump. At the end of the day, the worker bee employees are expendable. Because there are no middle managers, it is bottom line or bust. That means your direct manager is prepared to kick you to the curb if need be. There is some job security embedded in USG contracting but it isn't guaranteed. If you don't have work to bill for you will be vulnerable at this company, unlike some of the larger firms in the area.

Pros

Excellent benefits. Can't beat them. Peers, for the most part, are supportive and collaborative. If you work on contract (gov't contractor), you're golden, but keep in mind that being on a gov't contract means you are not advancing in career. Ever.

Cons

The company is experiencing growing pains, and while the work is challenging and fun at times, it is important to remember: some executives are to be avoided. There is a clearly defined line between which employees are staying, no matter how morally and ethically wrong they treat other individuals within the organization, and which ones are expendable. Be careful. Keep your mouth shut, do your work, and go home. Don't talk to anyone about anything personal unless you trust them. I've witnessed back-office employees treated beyond horrible.

Pros

I have worked here from almost 5 years (offsite supporting a client full time), and I have had a wonderful experience. The CEO is wonderful and knows each employee by name. Raises, bonuses, and career advancement as all strongly supported (e.g. paying for training and taking of the PMP exam). Also, the health benefits are unbelievable. The company pays for all heath benefits for me and my wife without anything out of my paycheck. All the doctors I have been to have been impressed with the coverage, which speaks volumes in my book. Management and HR support are fabulous.

Cons

I have heard HQ based employees work longer hours (although I believe there is significant flexibility). Moving positions can be difficult, as employees tend to stay with the company for long periods of time, so positions on existing contracts rarely open up,
