      Too many MBAs

      Pros

      1. Good place to learn engines because it is a small company. 2. Some very good engineers/technical people 3. Successful Company

      Cons

      1. Forced ranking : Its hard to believe someone can have such a system in this day and age 2. 80% of employees are doing non-productive 'work', i.e., meeting and talking 3. Massive bureaucracy + Six Sigma Brigade + Glut of project managers: in all a sea of mediocrity 4. For each employee who does actual work, there are three employees watching him/her.

      Pros

      Discount at local NPower Service Center. Good training program. Plenty of work to do. Good people at the lower levels, usually leave after a bit of time in the company.

      Cons

      Paid 15K less than market. Poor opportunities for promotion. Unfriendly work environment that is slow and foreign to change. Frustrated workforce, stuck in current positions due to weak economy. Poor management, no leadership is evident.

      Pros

      Great experience and opportunity for development. The people who work at Cummins are knowledgeable about engines. You are given full ownership of your components and have the opportunity make key desicions

      Cons

      Pay and workload are terrible. Cummins does not seem to pay based on how much you actually get done, it's more about how upper management perceives you. Without doing some brown-nosing, you are unlikely to be ranked well. Also, location is not ideal if you enjoy the freedom of nut running in to people from work all the time.
