Pros

no pros as such . The company is a host to lobbying , and employees working for a couple of years recruit their spouse into the company , leaving aside cream talent and experienced employees.

Cons

The company has no vision as to what is it going to do in the future. Lays off as many as 700 workers and employs fresh students on the other hand at the same time. The managers mostly are involved in tea meetings , and end paying less attention to what their team is up-to. No one is ready to take responsibility, and the meetings held are held in different buildings which involve driving as much 20 miles a day if required just getting from one plant to another , for which the company does not compensate.

Pros

Work life balance...a bit too much! Low cost area for family living.

Cons

No life for socially active within an hour in any direction of a small town. Management hires in bulk and then lay-offs follow every 3-4 years...Indiscriminate hiring and firing. Poor projections. Management dreams big without realistic planning and then falls flat as as cycle turns

Pros

Cummins has good benefits. IT transformation has started so the company is starting to move more toward common solutions (but has a long way to go). The benefits and salary are pretty good. Work/life balance is very good.

Cons

Innovation is one of Cummins' core values, but no real innovation is happening in the IT function. IT and software applications are 10 years behind many other companies. The company announces layoffs about every three years. The business, especially in the manufacturing function, seems to have low regard for the IT function.
