Pros

Curriculum Associates is the right sized company for me - not too small and not too "corporate"; big enough to make a difference nationally and yet small enough to put people first (students, teachers, employees). Great balance between the team environment and self-direction. To me, the company culture is something very special that many other companies have lost or never had. CA is growing and expanding, with impressive year over year growth. This means lots of room for advancement and promotion from within is a reality. There is so much energy here- I love it!

Cons

The company is in a transition period as far as business systems go (internal processes and software choices are still somewhat behind the times or challenged by the rapid scaling-up to match the company's very rapid growth). In the meantime, there is a rather odd mix of some things being very 21st century and other things still feeling cumbersome or "old school".

Pros

The people are some of the best I have ever worked with in my entire life. You feel like you are making an impact on students' lives.

Cons

The company culture is changing. I'm not sure if it was from the recent acquisition or because we are getting so big, but there has been a shift in the way we treat each other, team celebrations (or lack there of) and ability to move between teams.

Pros

I have a great team of colleagues who care and want what's best for teachers, kids, and each other. Managers mean it when they say they want to help you.

Cons

Top leaders have kind of lost the pulse of what makes people want to work here. They are driven by business, profit, money, etc. Not so much focusing on the positive effect we have on kids. I get that right now is a tense time to be in education, but I wish the focus, at least when meeting with us, focused more on our impact and less on getting to know leadership/ "business" focused decisions.
