      Working as a team manager in the contact centre is enjoyable and rewarding but there are plenty of challenges

      Pros

      Great people work at Carphone Warehouse. There are some great leaders here who are very inspiring at the best of times. There are plenty of opportunities for growth and if you are willing to re-locate; plenty of job opportunities being created all of the time. With Best Buy Europe gradually getting bigger and ready to launch this will help Carphone Warehouse get even bigger and better in the coming few years.

      Cons

      Some of the 'middle' management is questionable at times, and a lot of decisions are made without discussing with those it affects.

      Pros

      Well know brand and well-respected organisation. Good opportunity to learn but don’t expect much input from your colleagues. Good opportunities in Best Buy may come up in the future.

      Cons

      Below market salaries, unorganised work place, poor back-end and system support, shortsighted leadership. Extremely poor IT-support. Bullying is the way forward, not professional qualification, merits and hard work. Very poor working conditions in head office. Lack of training opportunities.

      A great business to work for: organised but effective chaos

      Pros

      Carphone's a dynamic and entrepeneurial company which is big on 'pride and fun': as a business Carphone is keen to be known as a great place to work. And it IS a great place to work: CPW hires and keeps talented people; the business is extremely good at what it does; overall the company isn't afraid to make decisions and there's a genuine will to want to keep employees happy. This results in low staff turnover and makes for good promotion prospects.

      Cons

      Overall strategy can be vague, it can be a bit 'fly by the seat of your pants' and often people are reactive because there just isn't enough time to be proactive.
