Avoid at all costs

Pros

Short commute and quiet because of empty engineering offices due to positions being constantly outsourced or eliminated.

Cons

No job security as the company struggles to complete projects on time and has a high rate of turnover due to poor management, pay and treatment of employees. (Lackluster reliability due to rushed designs that cannot be tested properly because funding isn't available to purchase the proper equipment.) Constant stacking of priorities so you will always struggle to keep your head above water, management does not understand that one person is not capable of doing every task by themselves and time needs to be given to complete what's currently in queue instead of bouncing around from task to task then complaining about lack of progress, there's no planning whatsoever so every decision is made in the moment without considering the bigger picture.

Poorly Managed, Low pay

Pros

They used to provide bagels on Fridays. Ended with the pandemic

Cons

Low pay, constantly changing insurance plans, shame from managers when planning vacation time, poorly managed priorities, "old guard" resistant to change.
