Pros
- As a developer I would find it very difficult to justify leaving Cvent at this time. The technologies being used and expertise in technology are a rare find.
- Cvent uses a lot of great technologies some being React with Redux, ES6, Docker, Webpack, Babel, Java, .Net, Postgres, AWS
- There are always new technology to learn so you'll never feel complacent.
- Management values those who are serious about technology and own the products they work on.
- Good benefits.
- The pay is competitive.
- Work from home days
- Very diverse and multi cultural workforce
- Subscriptions to various of technology training sites like plural sight and safari books
- The culture is your typical tech company beer, foosball, ping pong, arcade games, and whatever other fun stuff someone thinks of.
Cons
- The tech divisions weekly hour expectations are 45 hours a week. Not sure how much of a con this is given that most developers are working more than 40 hours a week anyways.
- Sometimes trying to stay on top of all the technologies can be overwhelming as there is a lot to learn and you have to be able to pick them up quickly to meet sprint commitments.
- Remote offices can sometimes feel out of the loop from HQ
- This is a fast paced organization, if you're not serious about technology and aren't able to pick things up quickly you could fall behind.
