Completely killed my love for IT

Pros

You will gain a significant amount of experience working with virtualization and backup software. It's a nice stepping stone into working as a backup specialist, if that is your career path. You'll also learn a lot about how to overcome your fear of dogs, since the owner brings his in nearly every day.

Cons

Don't expect to have a career here. Not many people last longer than a year, either because of the abysmal pay rate or the stifling, unwelcoming atmosphere. As mentioned by other reviewers, the products are part of a niche market and aren't that good. Most technical issues are blamed on the customer's setup, it's rarely ever the fault of the equipment. I started out here looking to build my resume in IT, as finding work in this area when you're not ex-military is incredibly hard, but instead opted to change career fields after leaving. The tech support staff also has an on-call rotation, and you could always tell which one was on rotation that week because they looked like zombies. Also, there is no career path. Start in R&D and you'll either burn out, get frustrated with the low pay, or get fired for no reason. Start in tech support and you'll end up the same way, or shuffled off to sales. Start in sales and you'll find that there are no good leads because the reputation of the product is so poor. Unless a senior sales rep quits and you inherit their clients, you'll make no commission because anyone who was already interested is taken.

Pros

Co-workers are great. The hours are good and they work with different schedules. The work is enjoyable and challenging. I have learned a lot of new skills

Cons

The pay is not very good. There is very little room to move up in the company. The benefits could be a lot better especially where insurance is concerned.

Pros

If I hadn't worked here I don't think I would appreciate my current job as much as I do. Most of the people I met working there were really smart, and generally helpful. Hard work and intelligence is definitely respected, at least at the lower/middle management level.

Cons

Low pay, even for entry-level tech support. Incredibly aloof, unfriendly environment. I am extremely introverted and generally don't mind lack of human interaction and even I felt uncomfortable. Very strict dress code. The owner has a large doberman who is sometimes allowed to roam the premises. They may or may not tell you this when you accept the job so be forewarned! If you are allergic or afraid of dogs they will not make any allowances. The owner views their dogs as family and employees as expendable.
