Silicon Valley feel in Northern Illinois

Pros

Devnet is a fast growing software company with the kind of relaxed and fun culture you'd find in Silicon Valley. Supporting County government provides great job security; we actually grew during the recession. Large scale modernization of the product line and internal processes is opening many opportunities to work with the newest technologies.

Cons

Not everyone can handle the pace. Avoid if you require micro-managing.

Pros

A small company doing big business, bootstrapped and owned by programmers who haven't lost touch with their craft. Very family-oriented and family-friendly. Family and health always come first and the management at DEVNET always go out of their way to provide for their employees and their families. Competitive compensation, long term incentives, and job stability in an unsure economy.

Cons

Small teams mean larger individual responsibilities, this is not for everyone. Given smaller local talent-pool, sometimes employees are stretched very thin in an attempt to meet deadlines.
