Pros

I have nothing positive to say about DHL Express.

Cons

Everything about the company is a downside. I worked for Airborne Express for 14 years. It was a good company with good management. DHL took 5 years to run the company into the ground. And with the decisions that are being made right now on going forth, there will be no future for DHL in the US.

Pros

There aren't any good reasons anymore.

Cons

DPWN needs to recognize that they don't know how to manage an Express business. This Company has been plunged down the toilet ever since it was purchased by DPWN in 2003. The USMB, VP's and most recent hachett CEO have destroyed what was once a great place to work. They're created a complex group of operating units that fight among themselves. All Sr. Management cares about is saving their own butts. I have never seen a group of people put such a positive 'spin' on all of their bad decisions so they can sell themselves into a global position or a transfer. Some of these executives have received and are continuing to receive very generous severance and bonus packages. All while the 'employee's' are suffering by having to work excessive hours and then are lossing their jobs. It's an amazing list of bad decisions with zero accountablity. The Company's major error was not having control of their own business, between the independent contractors, unions, multiple airline agreements (why do we need 2?), etc. all at cost plus they don't have a chance of controlling their own expenses. They're spending billions on restructuring. ...right, more like setting the Company up to sell to a competitor or a complete shut down.

Pros

For the most part, DHL does pay above average.

Cons

Very limited opportunities for women and minorities - you must be a member of the old boys' club to have opportunities. Additionally, anyone below the vice president level is expected to make all the sacrifices so that the executives can keep their good pay, free health benefits and other perks.
