They Don't Care About YOUR Money

Pros

Name recognition, global reach, air freight rates - as sales go, it's easy to get that critical first appointment.

Cons

Incompetent operations, assembly line processes where a single file is ping ponged around the system touching as many as 9 departments in 3 locations. Customer service is a joke with each agent having 500-1000 unread emails at any time. Billing to the client is impossible to implement correctly; storage, misdelivery, and losses on files due to incompetence are the rule rather than the exception. This is disastrous for a sales person's commission. Portfolios are assigned with no understanding of the commission structure and often new sales people are saddled with portfolios that prevent them from earning ANY commission at all. Errors in the commission statements take months to address ; this is greeted with a shrug of the managments' collective shoulders. Expense reports are regularly lost in the manual system with no way to confirm receipt. The first indication you have that you will receive reimbursement is after 5 pm on the Friday before it is paid, which is two weeks after it's submitted. If your expense report is misplaced they expect you wait two more weeks for it to process. Sales people beware, they truly don't care about YOUR money.

Pros

Co-workers are good people and the only decent part of the job.

Cons

Mgmt is either out of touch, incompetent, and toxic or some combination of the three. Too many managers who can't do their jobs and are frankly an embarrassment. Every week there's someone crying at their desk, joking about killing themselves, trying to quit, or generally having a slow breakdown. Catty behavior and bullying common - employees will get yelled at in front of the entire office, told to leave if they complain. Some downright illegal things happen here like them telling you not to speak another language in social conversations or managers lying to prevent someone from taking a job in another department by saying they couldn't leave for 3 months (this happened twice that I know of), or nursing mothers being refused a place to use a breast pump as is required BY LAW. If you're a young white male this can be great as some of the female managers here will coddle you and support your ambitions - and flirt with you - but if you're a woman your only ambition should be to be mommy's little helper and their bff. If you try to advance they will act like you betrayed them and make your life hell - ladies know your place there or beware! Don't think that because your boss is a woman she will support you - here it's the exact opposite, I'm afraid. Employees are overworked - 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 HOUR DAYS have happened here and many people try to work off the clock because they're so pressured to try to finish their jobs. Employees are poorly trained and the only things managers care about is CYA and they'll tell you that. The machinery is garbage! 20 year old printers that break down every week - no joke but we get useless televisions to play DHL propaganda all day. And remember - no music allowed because some busybody invented herself a job and title making everyone else miserable.

Pros

They'll hire just about anyone if you can past a drug test, and are a "reasonably competent" individual.

Cons

Low paying job with absurd rules, high turnover rate, low employee support/benefits, high expectations, poor structure and leadership, lack of true advancement and career development,...etc.
