      Stuck in the past, this review isn't for all of Exel, but some locations.

      Pros

      Large stable company, good people working for me, decent pay for college kid fresh out of school

      Cons

      All bottom line, no innovation, They will tell you in orientation they are on the cutting edge of technology, it's only true in the warehouse you take the tour of. Militaristic, paranoid management approach with a poor stressful work environment and no guidance or feedback.

      Pros

      * There are a lot of locations, so there is room for movement within the company, especially if you are willing to relocate. * Salaries and bonus are fair but not overly generous * It is hard to get fired from Exel * Some really good managers in the network but you have to reach out and get involved to make connections. * Health care options and benefits are good.

      Cons

      * History over over promising and under delivering, especially when it comes to upward movement. If you really want something get it in writing. * Many of the positions are occupied for the long term making upward meovement hard since there are few open positions that aren't spoken for a year in advance. * Management varies from site to site, with some sites staffed with excellent management and others with poor managers and supervisors. * There are many cliques

      I work with nice people, but the job expectations do not match the pay. The pay is VERY low and the work pace is fast.

      Pros

      The healthcare and 401k benefits are very good. A decent healthcare and dental plan costs about $11 a week, and adding my family was not expensive. You are immediately vested into the companies 401K program with a 4% company match. The people I work with are nice and there is minimal drama. The management is friendly.

      Cons

      There is nothing worse than working as hard as you can and it still not being good enough. There is not a person in this company who does not work massive amounts of overtime. If you like to work in an environment where you get praise for a job well done, this is probably not the company for you. The workload and expectations are very high, with very minimal pay.
