      They talk about life/work balance but it doesn't exist with this company.

      Pros

      Highly competitive salary and good bonus potential. Benefits package is decent and they offer a good amount of vacation and paid days off although it is limited when you can take the time off.

      Cons

      Field Management is not honest and open about certain situations. If they think you are doing a poor job they often let you think you are doing well and then come attack you.

      The discounts you get on store merchandise.

      Cons

      They promise you everything and deliver nothing. Poor Pay, bad budgeting by management gets taken out on employee hours. Very poor management. Managers do not know how to manage. Human Resources department is a joke, any complaint gets swept under the rug.

      Dick's was not a good experience for me

      Pros

      I enjoyed meeting new people including some nice customers. The location was very good considering it took me 10 minutes to drive there from my house.

      Cons

      I don't know if every retail company does this but they would search through my bags etc as I would leave at night which I wasn't to thrilled about. Another negative, would be they force you to sell their credit cards and get people to sign up for the score card. If you are unsuccessful in that then prepare to have your hours drastically cut down. The managers were not all that great (except for like 2) who were very nice. Some customers look down on you because you are a cashier. Please excuse me for not coming from a snobby rich family and having to pay my own way for school. That's about all I can think of because I truly hated working there.
