Pros

If you like working in a Sports store and not doing much then Dicks is the place for you. The staff is nice and the managers leave much to be desired. If you just need a job this is the place to be.

Cons

no benefits leads in the building act like team members Managers need to manage and not worry about their next level hire people that want to work not just have a title in the building solve issues in the building proactively and not waiting till after the fact stop putting so much pressure on frontend about the score cards

Pros

Pay is not bad for the job I do. Discount is ok on most things but on some big ticket items, kayaks, bikes, guns, electronics not as good. People are great, managers are friendly for the most part.

Cons

Hours are cut to the bone after Christmas and stay that way till next thanksgiving. Full time gets 32 to 38 hours a week. They will give part time people more hours than full time when its busy (they make less dollars per hour) Training is nonexistent. Will use up pay roll getting ready for a visit from corporate then have a skeleton crew for the next week or two.

Pros

Everyone is on the same boat with salary and disastrous management. Parking is a breeze though.

Cons

No formal instruction, most of the employees are immature high schools students, managers do not care about their employees (mine rarely smiled nor talked to me). they had me build bikes without certification, even the bike technician quite his job. They scolded me for talking to other employees out of my area and I was the only one in my area. All i did all day was walk around in my little area cleaning the already cleaned areas. I had no instruction and was always bored. Not much traffic comes into the store and the discounts and benefits are ridiculous stupid. Please do not work here, its a horrible company that doesn't care about their customers but just wants to make more profit.
