Pros

Working in apparel you will definitely get your steps in for the day.

Cons

Hardest department to work in. Knowing everyone expect you to recover apparel by yourself when it’s more than 50% of the store.

Pros

20% Discount Relaxed/Sport themed dress code (No Heels/Pant Suits) Flexible schedule for SOME associates.

Cons

Lots of cons with the place, but a lot of it was caused by hourly associates. No one ever wants to work. Tons of no shows/call ins. Employees just up and quit. Made it hard for those that wanted to work. Favoritism. I worked at 3 different locations - 1 was incredibly clean all the time, the other 2 were disasters. So what lead to me leaving was my raise/training/and knowing that no matter how good you do, it doesn’t matter. After being with the company for almost 2 years, I was given a small raise. I was happy with my raise, it wasn't exactly much, but hey, I earned it. It was my second or third raise with them, but this one also came with a "little" promotion. I was a cashier but now with a glorified title. I always showed up, on time, went in on my days off when others called in (which happened A LOT + I lived over 40 mins away, but they knew I would cover anyways) and was a devoted and dedicated member of the team. I was friendly, nice and trained all the newbies coming in. Plus, I was really good. I was fast, excellent with money, my paperwork, incredible problem solver and even fixed the registers when they broke down (yay for having a tech and a business degree). Being a manager for 10+ years prior, and then working retail on a register is like a walk in the park. Well, after a semi-mass hire as we were short staffed, I was training a small group on the registers, trying to obtain their attention so they could learn their job, they decided to start talking about the wages they were hired with, how crappy the job probably is (was their first day) and started asking about what type of discounts they got. I felt stabbed in the back. Here I am attempting to train this group that has no desire to work, making more than me, and I was working a double shift to help train these kids that just wanted to sit around, chat all day and play on their phones. Since it was time for a break, I took it and went to go find someone in the office. I sat down and talked to her about it. Come to find out, they had to hire all the new employees at a higher rate in order to attract them to apply. What??? I've been there for over 2 years, and the people I am TRAINING currently make MORE than I do and they have absolutely no desire to even learn. I know it may not seem like a lot to whomever is reading this, but they started them off at $11 per hour, and I was making $9.50. And I would continue to make that wage until my next review (the following year). We ended up getting through the day, but once I got home I talked with my family. I really only took the job as I needed something quick because we were moving around because of my husbands job at that time. I became too comfortable and devoted and ended up staying there longer than planned. But since we are now settled, I put my 2 weeks in the following day. Now I am back in the “business” world, sitting in my office, writing this review. Enjoying my full health ins., 401k and generous salary. Can't say I'm sad I left.

Pros

Decent Pay, good health benefits, easy job for people who don’t want to work not held accountable constant call outs and no repercussions

Cons

Long hours, no respect from corporate, terrible discount customer has better discount with coupon. Lots of theft and no support from corporate. Very high expectations of associates and no pay increases. Man driven company
