Pros
At the beginning we had 4 managers 2 which were phenomenal. While the 2 good managers were there for the 1st year of my employment it was a fun stress free work environment.
Cons
After the 2 aforementioned mangers left there was only 2 key carrying managers running the store. The work environment turned incredibly toxic, scheduling was horrible (it felt like they were not actually making schedules and just letting the computer make them) they started hyper focusing on “metrics” and showing favoritism/discrimination based on performance. Management also felt extremely sexist as no male workers EVER got promoted (all leads, CSS, managers besides the 2 bad managers were female) one of the managers cursed me out in front of customers for not hard selling someone I knew from my school on the scorecard after they refused my first offer and not offering the credit card (16 year olds cannot sign up for credit cards, but that didn’t seem to matter) I let it slide but further incidents left me no choice but to raise concern with the other store manager, in which he basically told me that I needed to get better metrics to not be harassed (my metrics were good too but they think it’s possible to get like 5 credit cards EVERY SHIFT) Needless to say I was shocked at the response, as he didn’t care that a manger used profanity and made a scene in front of several groups of customers who looked mortified after he was done. As I mentioned before promotions are extremely sexist as I gave 1 year of loyal service, having several days of me getting 10+ warranty’s, 90% scorecard, and winning a donation competition. I was not given a raise or promotion yet a girl who had only had been working there 4 months had one good day and got 12 warranty’s (my highest was 16) and was promoted to CSS over me and several other male employees who had been there for a much longer time with similar performance. Overall terrible place to work now, those managers completely ruined a nice place to work imo with their greed (pressuring employees so they can get their bonuses) and micromanagement. Coworkers also sometimes act like they are hot stuff for being management’s current “favorite” or being a CSS (glorified cashier) and act like they run the store. They will also snitch on you for absolutely anything, such as scanning the same bulky item 3 times instead of scanning the 3 bulky items separately and wasting the customers time. However I didn’t realize how HORRIBLE this place was until I worked at target where they treat there employees amazingly and seem like they actually care about you.
