Pros

Amazing camaraderie with coworkers and some managers, you can wear athletic clothes all day

Cons

Super stressful environment for new hires because of lack of training, I trained myself for the first 6 months, some members of upper management are ridiculously condescending and don’t participate in work activities at all, rarely showing up to work even

Pros

-Get to work with my favorite sport! Beats working any at other retail store that only carries clothing! -Every person I worked with was easy to get along with and every team lead were clearly fantastic hires! You are lucky to have the team leadership you carry in your stores! -My hardlines and softlines managers were phenomenal!

Cons

-My store manager is a lazy person who inflicts a lazy environment on the store. He doesn’t care about any of his employees, including his other managers, and is only in his position because he is friends with all of his direct superiors. Such a shame since the rest of the team lead/management team are great! -Does NOT offer competitive pay. I started at $10 an hour, and after an employee of the month award and many satisfied customer reviews later, they haven’t offered me a raise, a bonus, or anything related after 8 months. They actually cut my hours some weeks to give them to employees whom pay less per hour just to hit the weekly budget, even if those said employees are more lackadaisical. Long story short: if you get hired, do not expect getting a pay raise unless you are promoted, and do not expect being paid more than $12 an hour. -Later I found out your pay level is based off of an 8 week period, and if you work over 32 hours on average per week over that 8 week period, you could apply for full time employment where you can get benefits and accumulate vacation days. Nobody ever told me about this until I had been working there for 6 months! Not the managers and not the administrative assistant that conducts the entire hiring process. This explains why I would be scheduled 6 days, 40 hours some weeks and 2 days, 10 hours other weeks. If the DSG corporate office cared about their employees, they would pay them for what they’re worth. They sadly look at their employees only as numbers on a spreadsheet, although they put on the faćade of being a great company to work for. While the staff team I worked with were great and had a positive attitude all the time, the company itself treats all of its employees woefully. -Appalling organization within the store. The only things that are planned out further than 3 days in advance are store inventory and shipments. Most is done on the fly or with under 24 hours notice, which leads to discombobulation within every team of the store.

Pros

Gym that you can use during the day, pretty grounds, Starbucks on campus

Cons

Leadership is completely clueless. Promotions are not based on potential or even hard work, but rather who's sucking up to whom. Decisions are made not based on what the data shows, but who thinks something is a good idea. Office is out in the middle of nowhere... by the airport. They claim to be "cutting edge" but are anything but.
