Pros

In exchange for long, long hours and arcane, tedious bureaucracy, there was a good benefits package and (up until recently) good job stability. Opportunity to receive literal hands on experience. (You may go in an engineer, but you will also become a technician)

Cons

-Upper management doesn't really seem to know what is going on -Middle management doesn't really seem to know what is going on -Cost analysis seems to be a shell game -Departments within the company are pitted against each other (No one should commit the sin of being a cost center) -American employees seem to be expendable.
