Good company marred by politics

Pros

DTCC have hired some great engineers to work with, so the atmosphere is great if you do not get entangled with the politics. The hybrid 3 days in, 2 days remote works. For a lot of employees a 7.5 work day is all that is needed.

Cons

Management from Associate Director to Executive Director needs mentoring. For a company with no real competition, the focus is still on deadlines over quality. In addition, at the ED level you can see promotions based off of who is friends with who, or who manipulated metrics to make their initiative look like it was much more effective. For example, they start an Agile transformation 6 years ago that has fallen flat, but the metrics presented still make it look like it was a winner. Additionally they are laying off DTCC employees and keeping contingent workers, which seems like an insult.
