Pros

Benefits and pay, other then that there is no other pros. All I can tell you is keep you head down and you might be able to retire from there.

Cons

If you're not in the club or have a relative that is higher up ,you will never move up. Also if you are the best employee that they have and someone higher up doesn't like you to find a way to fire you over the smallest thing. Whatever you do, never leave the union.

Poor managers, no guts, yes men, total complacency, no responsibility to anyone but themselves. Yep that sums it up!

Pay was generally good, felt good to contribute to something meaningful - generating electricity

Cons

Not good place for women to work. Senior level engineers can get good assignments, but many supervisor and manager positions are not posted and they often do not consider women for these positions. Several departments, even those with a large number of female employees, have never had a female manager, let alone director or vice-president.
