Pros

I work on the business side, and it's a good company to work for. They try to incorporate core values into everyone's daily work life by doing a lot of odd things like throwing parties while on the job (with drinks) and having a fight song. They try to make it a nice place to work.

Cons

It's corporate America and even though they try not to look like their mission isn't to chase the almighty dollar, it is. The benefits package is pretty sorry, especially for a healthcare company. No 401k matching. And it's sad to see that healthcare, which is as old a trade as medicine men/women - has come down to capitalism, greed and competition.

Pros

Truly believes is developing teammates to be better people! You'll never get bored as there is more work to go around than folks to do it. And if you're willing to take on new challenges and have a track record of success then you'll be rewarded with challenging opportunities. To DaVita, the Core Values lead in all decision making. It's great to work for an organization that is the best at what it does and in the business to make life better for those in end stage renal disease.

Cons

Work/Life balance can be challenging to sustain. Change is constant but not always well thought-out...for instance Policy and Procedure rollouts/updates every 6 months like clockwork. This constant state of change wears on the clinical team to the point it's difficult to not become cynical of the latest and greatest method or program (for the moment). Budgets have gotten more strict and the teammates are expected to do more which sends a mixed message to managers who need folks off the clock as fast as possible but have more work than the budget allows.
