Pros

My work environment is up-to-date with many tools provided to get the job done. My workmates are knowledgable, fun to work with, and helpful when needed. The nature of my work (IT) is both challanging, withthin my capibilities, and it allows me to utilize my natural and well as learned talent abilities. The company at all levels provides inspiration to excel in both work and personal life. Even though I am not in direct contact with our dialysis patients the work I do affects them and their treatment because the information we keep on them needs to be accurate and accessable.

Cons

There are no downides of working at DaVita, at least in the field and department I work in.

Pros

Benefits, the number of clinics to work at.

Cons

Payroll department is incompetent, You have to fight for money owed you, They do not like to promote from with in, to many supervisors and senior management with no dialysis experience and have never worked in a clinic that are calling the shots. The biggest is low salarys equal low job preformance, you think they would have figured that out by now. Just some fun facts, a Technician who dialyzes patient's with End Stage Renal Disease makes anywhere from $13.50-$16.00 per hour, the adverage bus driver in HISD starts at $13.72 per hour, now how scary is that? The tecnician has at least four patients at one time and has to monitor their bloodpressure, stick them with needles, and countless other tasks and thats all they make.

Pros

Alot of good people working there. Of course, the adverse conditions of the workplace is probably what helps the employees to bond.

Cons

Very low pay compared to other companies with similar job positions. All management decisions are driven by the CEO, regardless of advice given to him, often resulting in foreseeable problems. Being forced to sing the company anthem for every group of visitors that comes to the office. Raises not given every year, even when the company is experiencing record profits. The CEO cries on cue every year at the annual meeting(it's very obvious that he thinks everyone is stupid and is buying his act). Excecutives that are abusive or even involved in some pretty serious sexual harassment are kept onboard. Executives that question the CEO's ideas are summarily dismissed. The company literally uses mild cult techniques to maintain control over the employees(seriously!). Tons of money is spent on luncheons, travel and retreats while money is needed for tools and raises.
