Pros

CLINIC FLOOR CO-WORKERS, PATIENTS, FOOD, THAT IS ABOUT IT THE REST IS ALL A CONVEYOR BELT OF UNREALISTIC WORKLOADS FOR THE NURSES, THE TECHNICIANS, THE SOCIAL WORKERS AND THE DIETICIANS. YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THEIR CULT LIKE CORE VALUES WHICH LOOK AND SOUND WONDERFUL BUT ARE ACTUALLY USED TO MANIPULATE EMPLOYEES. TEAMWORK=UNDER STAFFING

Cons

HYPOCRITICAL CORE VALUES, MISSION STATEMENT IT IS ALL A FACADE Hypocrisy: behaving in a way that suggests one has higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case. Hypocrites believe one thing, but do another. For being a healthcare business you are not considered a person you are a machine which must constantly produce with unrealistic workloads. Employees are overwhelmed with stress. Patient safety is compromised, your professional license is compromised. There is no pay scale, but there are title levels and if you increase your title level it does not increase your pay. They treat their patients and employees like CONVEYOR BELT WORK IN A FACTORY and are more concerned about productivity for maximum profits than patient care or their employees (aka Teammates). It's all about the numbers. Sad, but true, it really isn't about what's best for the patient...it's about doing anything that makes the "numbers" (lab values, access rates, catheter rates, selling patients to sign up for Davita Rx the pharmacy of Davita) look good. We are hounding and harassing patients every day instead of steadily teaching, exploring reasons for non-compliance and encouraging them. Point-of-care staff are constantly criticized. Can't do enough. High staff turnover. Too many responsibilities and not enough time to complete work and treat patients safely and accurately. Very cut throat culture, although they preach much different. The clinics are micromanaged, managers calls us all shift long asking how busy we are so someone can be sent home. Even when our workloads are unbearable, all management cares about is numbers. You would think patient satisfaction and safety should be a priority but it's not. Patient care is threatened in hundreds of ways on a daily basis because of staffing ratios and management decisions. Patients are dying, become mentally ill and are screaming for hours and nobody does anything to alleviate these poor people who are at the end of their life and are in need of pain relief and human interactions which the workload does not allow. Those who perform well are often rewarded with more work without any monetary increase and if you refuse they use the core values of the company against you. The typical raise is 2% per year if you have a good review and managers are instructed to give a mediocre review where almost if not all never see the 2% raises which is literally pennies. FUN means doing something on your day off with teammates if you don't it affects your review. You are essentially blackmailed. You have to follow their cult like Village culture or you are not a team player. You have to be a puppet and your manager pulls your strings till they break. IF YOU LIKE BEING EXPLOITED TILL YOU ARE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY ILL BECOME ONE OF THE NURSES, TECHNICIANS, SOCIAL WORKERS OR DIETICIANS FOR DAVITA. Wait a minute, I forgot you are not allowed to become ill. You are a machine and not allowed to break down. If you do not come into work your work becomes every ones work this way the clinic saves money and because your ill you will get that taken out of PTO (paid time off) which should be time to get away from work. Instead they take half your PTO time(if you have it accrue, if not you just don't get paid) and then your sick days will pay which essentially means you are in a hospital probably having a body part removed in order to get your sick pay.

Pros

Field teammates are undeniably dedicated to the care and support of patients and the heart of the company (although I wouldn't choose DaVita based on how overworked and underpaid they are).

Cons

DaVita is driven and wholly focused on the dirty secret that "private pay" patients (individuals with employer insurance) is the only, unwavering, objective to maintain revenue and drive growth. Despite the medical necessity, almost every program is designed to attract and acquire these patients to secure billable income that is far greater than government payments. Because of this avarice, the work environment is imbued with unprecedented chaos resulting in daily "fires" to satisfy the whims of leadership. Regulatory compliance is perceived as an obstacle and much effort goes into circumventing Compliance or hiding potential violations. "DaVita Culture" is nothing more than a brainwashing tactic to convince teammates that the rationale for long work hours, stressful and demanding conditions, and often rude and pompous interactions is to deliver outstanding care to patients. It's a ruse to shroud the blatant fact that DaVita is no different than any other company that the employees and their value will always be sacrificed in favor of higher revenue. Similar to living under a repressive and autocratic regime, dissent from this artificial culture is not only frowned upon, but managers will make a case against you to force you out. If you are an individual with your own opinion, thoughts, work ethic and expectations on how you should be treated, DaVita is not for you. If you desire an escape from reality, saccharine core values, and a cliquey, over-educated adult high school, then you'll fit in. Just know you'll be forced to give up nights and weekends (contrary to the work-life balance that he publicized), you'll receive unending, unsubstantiated criticism, and realize that your "trusted" teammates who work side-by-side you are the first ones to throw you under the bus to discredit you and advance their own reputation. In addition, as stated many times in previous reviews, the pay is subpar for the amount of work, regardless of experience, benefits are disappointing (so-so healthcare, teammates are never made aware that standard holidays are NOT given days off, but part of your PTO package (deduct 7 days from what you believe to be all your hours to use at your discretion). Think long and hard, read reviews and ask around before accepting a position with this company.

Pros

Good food in the restaurant on the 14th floor

Cons

Leadership is incredibly corrupt, to the extent that even in their leadership meetings they LAUGHED about how few days the press spent paying attention to the whistle blower settlement they got the January I worked there. They skim overtime off their employees' pay and make people work off the clock, and understaff their clinics to the point of being dandergous for patient care, which is well documented. They have big hoopla surrounding their values and it's just that, pretty icing on cupcakes with zero nutritional value or substance. Their benefits are awful, as well. They are one ofbthe biggest conoanoesninnthe world and they dont even do 401K match foe their employees, and they count the 10 paid holidays against the "two weeks of PTO". IE: you actually get only 4 days PTO on top of the holidays they deem are paid.
