At times the culture of the parent company in Japan and the US locations where not well aligned and that caused some conflicts.

Too many ways to fill out paperwork expected by too many different managers creates enormous redundancy; i.e. Paper forms, electronic forms, Scanned paper forms, emailed scanned paper forms, excel spreadsheets, website forms all containing the same information, all originating from the Technician level to represent hours worked. Technology within the Corporation was way behind the curve for way too long. Management would not hear of unpaid time off for Technicians; until they brought on four upper middle managers exceeding a half a million in salary. That's when they asked the lowest paid workers to take some unpaid time off within a week of the announcement of the new management structure. Poor form. Took six months or more to get a laptop(absolutely required by technicians). . Didn't get text capabilities for the Technicians before 2013; smartphones arrived in 2014.
