Pros

It was a good job besides the guests. There was alot of flexibility for scheduling and there were decent employees to work with so I would recommend it. The food is crap though I would not eat anything from there myself. Was what you would expect from a restaurant job. Some people were pulling 35-45 k on tips so it was a really good outlook if that is what you want to do all the time. I am glad to be out of the restaurants but It is great money and not to hard. I would look for a better guest quality because it will make a difference.

Cons

Alot of guests were extremely demanding compared to other places I have worked.

Pros

Darden has great ideals and vision. Olive Garden in general has amazing principles and philosophies that certainly when executed make the workplace great. Life at the OG is usually pretty good in the fact that the basis for the company is when your here your family. That usually goes for the staff as well as the guest. The company can do a good job at dangling incentives such as trips, prizes, etc in order for you to do your best. Health benefits are great especially if you are in the HMO. The training is excellent and instills the passion to do your best at the job.

Cons

Downsides would be that they don't always listen to those in direct contact with the problems. People offering the answers usually haven't been there so they don't know or forgot what it is like to have problems. The bonus package seems to be getting harder and harder to achieve, so you are somewhat making less money every year as opposed to gaining in salary. The company has also become a persona in their ideals and not really following through on the meaning behind it. Not everyone cares about your quality of life or your family it really has begun to not matter.
