Zero flexibility. Big-Brother like monitoring of folks PTO and in-office time. Expected to be in your seat, in the office, working at 8a, and lunch is strictly observed from 12-1p. Raises are not up to industry standards. They will not pay you what your worth. Zero opportunity for upward mobility as there are no layers of management, only a director who everyone reports too. Micromanagement is the theme, along with finger pointing and blaming others when things wrong from management. The office consists of maybe 14 people, who are doing the work of 30+ people. When employees leave, they don't replace them, they just pile the work load on to one or two other people and keep moving, with zero additional compensation or title elevation. There is no training program, barely any SOPs to speak off, and no organization for new hires (when they actually do bring on a new person). Corporate office in Houston communicates very condescendingly as a general rule, and rarely is there any recognition of a job well done, much less any public kudos, but you hear about it for weeks and months if you make a mistake, and it's not uncommon for people to get yelled at well-within earshot of the other 10 people in the dark, empty feeling office space. The minute you put your notice in, you're basically excommunicated in the director's eyes, he will not speak to you or even acknowledge you exist. Everything is taken as a personal attack, even if you're accepting another position to better your family, his behavior is as if you're leaving him and it's all about him. There is so much drama and guilt-tripping if you ever have to stay home with a sick kid, or heaven forbid you get sick yourself because you're doing the job of 5-7 other people. There are women who worked there that would have to bring their sick toddlers to the office because they weren't allowed to work from home, and they had so much work to do that they couldn't use a sick day or else risk falling even further behind (and get yelled at). Zero culture, and any attempts to create one get squashed either by the director or corporate office.
