Disposable Employees and Fake Culture

Pros

Depending on your immediate coworkers, it can be enjoyable. If you are near any corporate areas, the culture appears to exist.

Cons

Their "people first" culture does not extend to the majority of employees. If you try to raise a concern with higher ups or HR, you are ignored. If you are not in a certain clique, you will not be acknowledged.

Pros

There were none. The only pro was working from home.

Cons

Management upon hiring stated they would provided the tools for success. I never once saw those tools nor any training material, material for my role, guidance for success. Thrown into the fire expecting to know everything. I had to asked often for ways to continue my knowledge for my given role. Teammates single out individuals.

DataBank Holdings Response

I’m sorry your time at DataBank was cut short. It’s true that we tend to attract self-starters, but we also recognize our industry is evolving quickly, and our staff deserve the training and development needed to keep pace with technology change and prepare them for the artificial intelligence era ahead. That’s why, over the past 24 months, we’ve invested in a full-time learning and development team at DataBank, rolled out a comprehensive online L&D platform with 100s of classes available, recruited overlay training staff for our sales and data operations teams, conducted live “bootcamps” training days on our more complex managed services, and even introduced certification and tuition reimbursement programs. We’ve worked hard to make a powerful set of tools available to our staff and we know those who take the initiative and take advantage of them are benefiting mightily”.

Pros

Good opportunity to learn about data centers/colocation industry. If you join operations department, you can really go in a lot of career options. Often from looking at other employees, they aren't motivated to do more hence the low pay they are at. You need to go above and beyond to standout.

Cons

Be more competitive with pay with your market. Offer more opportunities for advancement.
