      Terrible pay, micro managers, and culture issues

      Stock options. May be too late now but that was the biggest positive joining pre-IPO. Great benefits as well.

      Cons

      - management is clueless. Preach the same concepts over and over again without applying practice and offering real-time guidance - a lot of micromanagers who want to watch you clock in and clock out of work. Zero trust and confidence in the folks they hire - retention was worst I’ve seen at any company - ROE and internal bureaucracy was very bad. Not set up for it to be equitable for even 20% of reps. Need a lot of luck - pay was awful. Not even close to being competitive in the current market. Stock options were good but doesn’t make up for poor base and variable. - a lot of talk and no action. Management used to say “changes are coming” and there was never any follow up

      Concerning, unprofessional business

      Good office location in downtown Boston

      Cons

      You could close a deal two weeks into the month, and they would book it in the previous month if they felt like it. Very shady business practices, borderline cooking the books. This company will never IPO. Leadership with no clue that thinks they are outfoxing their board and everyone else. Stay away.

      Datadog ruined my life

      My colleges were nice people. Doing the best they could under difficult circumstances

      Cons

      I was the victim of an abusive manager who constantly manipulated, gasket, and verbally abused me. When I told him what he was doing and professionally asked him to stop constantly criticizing me in front of the team, he responded with a PIP made up of entirely false allegations. I had receipts showing they were all lies. HR did not care and sided with him. Since then I’ve developed severe depression, crippling anxiety, and have been unable to find decent work in this economy. I had a great career and was very successful before coming to Datadog. This company has ruined my life.
