Pros
I can never thank Datalogic enough for giving me my start into this career. I really enjoyed my Italian colleagues in IT, as they were quite fun to spend time with when they were in town. I also was incredibly grateful for their very creative solutions to avoid mass layoffs during the intense economic pressure put on the company during COVID exacerbated by the part shortages and logistics issues. Culturally, when I started it was a joyous place to work and it was felt that they truly valued their employees. However... (see cons). I still have positive memories, but sadly, no lasting friendships to speak of after 12 years at the company. Considering the amount of time you spend with the people you work with (which in many cases is ever more time than with your own family), you might hope to form some true friendships from that, but this is not always the case. Perhaps that would have required more effort than I was willing to give.
Cons
In the last several years the culture has changed dramatically, particularly after the entire HR department left a couple years ago. The atmosphere hasn't been the same since. I enjoyed many of my colleagues from various departments for the first years, but upon leaving the company, not a single one appears to have even noticed. This woke me up to the reality of work relationships... they are NOT your friends. Some may cultivate genuine relationships outside of work, but do not fool yourself into thinking anyone here will actually value your contributions long term. While they weren't as oppressive and dictatorial as some companies during COVID and never required the jab, they still encouraged this highly experimental injection with zero valid and trustworthy long-term safety studies. Mask mandates were only avoidable for those who were allowed to work remotely.
