Pros

Colleagues are a great group of people- intelligent, passionate and friendly. Benefits are really good, with healthcare and dental care covered. The work is varied with lots of opportunities to try your hand in different areas and pick up new skills

Cons

Work hours are less social than the standard 9-5, including weekend work. Senior leadership seems very disconnected from general employees

Pros

Truly passionate, fun, and dedicated colleagues

Cons

Dataminr has began laying off people and they are doing it in disrespectful, abrupt and demeaning way People used to pour themselves into this place because they felt respected but things have taken a sharp turn recently You may hear that AI has gotten so good that they had to lay off people whose jobs could be automated. This is not the truth and no, we are not that close to singularity If you have self respect and do not want to deal with childish, infantilizing and truly disconnected leadership, you may want to look somewhere else for a job.
