Long Road Ahead in the Turnaround Process

Pros

The culture of the company was that of a mom and pop shop as in the people were friendly and helpful. An easy location to get in and out of, except during the State Fair weeks. Be a part of the turnaround to bring the company to the next level. Unrealized growth potential.

Cons

While the company reinvents itself it will be a lot of hardwork. Being that the company campus is three buildings it is unpleasant in poor weather conditions to go between. The office interior is in poor condition and needs renovation immediately.

Work conditions in Merrill Chennai facilities

Nothing much to state there on the facilities side (which is the topic of this review)

Cons

Poor lighting, broken chairs, pathetic pantry, pathetic washrooms, smelly corridors, no recreation facility for employees, no facilities for managers

I worked for Merrill for almost 10 years and enjoyed my time there.

Flexibility in work schedule Employee empowerment Updated systems with good technical support

Cons

There are a lot of long-term employees at Merrill who are not well managed. Also, the company went through 2 major reorganizations during my time and appeared to be in line for a third. These reorganizations were expensive, time consumptive and not well executed. Lower wages than I have experienced in other industries.
