Pros

A lot of competent and interesting people and a fast pace challenging environment with big clients. Experience there is easy to sell to other employers.

Cons

Huge turnover in the last few years. Almost half of all the teams. They have put a lot of long term employees in middle management position to control their commissions and bonuses. Most of them lack of strategic thinking or basic management skills. A lot of people have left and continue to leave because of this. Not the best moment to join the company . Employee assessment is motivated by politics and not by actual merit.

Pros

Can't think of any pros.

Cons

Merrill hasn't given out raises in over 10 years. The only people rewarded are top management & a handful of top sales people. Absolutely no communication from management - I only heard from my manager twice in the last 3 years. In the last few years, it has become abundantly clear that current management is motivated be personal greed. They started with necessary staff reductions & sales of departments that made no sense to keep but has evolved to random reductions & closures without any long-term thinking. Their motivation to meet their annual goals in order to receive their beloved bonuses has actually led them to shut down facilities that were still very much needed. So after the cost of shutting those facilities down, they had to re-open them which cost them a great deal more. Very stupid. I believe their plan is to keep strangling the business until they can sell the one department that has been the most successful and walk away with a large chunk of change. They won't be around too many more years.
