      Pros

      Merrill is going through a transformation, new leadership, new products, a tremendous amount of change to become a market leader once again. There are lots of good people at Merrill, and most really want to do the right thing.

      Cons

      Politics can be thick, and most internal support processes are poor or non-existent. Leaders that are your best friend one day can turn their back on you the next. Driving change is very hard, unless you are embraced by those in positions of power, real or assumed. Knowing the political landscape can be very challenging and sometimes it's best to simply keep your head down and do what you are told.

      Growing organization that is privately owned.

      Cons

      It think its fairly easy to get started in one career path, but there aren't clear paths to move up in the organization and is fairly easy to get "stuck" in one role for the rest of your career.
