      Pros

      Good pay and benefits, and there are some good people working there. New CEO in the past 2 years has brought new life into the company, and shed the 1970's vision of the previous CEO.

      Cons

      Where do I start... Senior finance leadership is passive/aggressive, and does not value the opinion of the staff. Distrust exists between senior finance leadership, and other departments, creating unnecessary stress for the finance staff. In the accounting department, during the most recent restructuring, they laid off the most hard working, capable, technically skilled, and well-liked manager in the group, only to retain another manager that does not share these traits.

      Pros

      New Executive Management seems genuine in desire to transform company, bring into the 21st century. Some moves towards product modernization.

      Cons

      Little to no advancement opportunities. Very few opportunities for professional enrichment or education. (If you want to develop professionally, it will be on your own dime...) New vision hamstrung by "That costs too much, don't do anything" attitude. Office technology still 10 years behind peers, office environment about 30 years behind. Prevailing attitude of "We'll never be a big player, so why try so hard?" not conducive to a global company.

      Merrill is a great place to work, organization is willing to teach those who want to know the business

      Cons

      There is not a lot of room for growth, what ever salary you start off with get use to it, raises are far and in between
