Pros

The people towards the bottom of the ladder were united by the incompetence of those at the top. Most of those people worked incredibly hard; the company only really exists because of them.

Cons

Extraordinary level of muddling through given the scale and importance of the contracts the company wins. Pay rises were unheard of, recognition was minimal. The atmosphere and environment were, at best, bleak.

Pros

Good base (or draw in some cases) Very good benefits Autonomy (though some micromanaging going on and people are now padding their stats)

Cons

Low quality in-grown management and promotions. Lots of sales people were fine customer service people but will never relate to clients. Most managers are lifers that get bumped up. Huge egos and lots of back-stabbing. HR = mega fail Products and everything else are WAY behind Merrill thinks its superior but really the only advantage is based on legacy relationships and gift giving The company wouldn't know a smart person or talent if it had any It's embarassing to work here
