      Caustic middle-management stirs drama and encourages staff to gossip, tattle, and withhold information from other cross-functional players/teams. Packed with "Merrill Lifers" who "do things as they've always been done." Favoritism is rampant. Merrill pushes the sales of their technology products but won't invest in keeping them up to date.

      A great margin business built on 20 years of doing the right thing, where the product and brand now sells itself. The nature of sale brings you in contact with sophisticated buyers and influencers. The technology can be impressive and relevant.

      Cons

      Massive and material reductions in force - 2x in 2.5 years! Unacceptable. Management are delusional on their inorganic acquisitions, forecasting and expectations for growth. Over hiring and over firing is nonsense... playing for the PE exit is morally wrong.
