      Pros

      The people and mission at Merrill are committed to providing the best customer service in the marketplace. Employees who work there tend to stay. Management is very approachable.

      Cons

      The benefits package is not very generous by industry standards and changes in compensation do not change frequently. It is not uncommon to go a year or more with no pay adjustments. The company grew out of several smaller companies. As a result, there is a lack of consistency among the operation of the various business units.

      Pros

      Good insurance. Interesting work, keeps me thinking all day. I'm not micromanaged.

      Cons

      Plenty of ignorance. Management does not care about mistakes, carelessness, rudeness of employees. Senior Management has a philosphy that all should be accountable. Yeah right. If you get a raise (a big if) it's not based on your performance. People performing poorly get same as those who are excellent workers. Few smile or acknowledge on another when passing.
