Pros

For a global corporation, this is a very family oriented company. The senior management in the corporate office seem to be very aware of the everyday work details of the individual plants. Monthly walk throughs of the plants facilitate the intimacy from the corporate offices. Corporate support to the plant is easily obtained.

Cons

Training has become non existent. Lines separating departmental duties are blurry at best. Departments are not encouraged to cooperate amongst each other.

Cons

-Long hours: Engineering work week is normally 50 hours. At AAM engineers worked most Saturdays and two Sundays a month -Constant change in hierarchy. In the year I was at AAM I had 5 different supervisors. This made it extremely difficult to continue projects and receive further assignments. Most of the time I was left looking for projects that needed completion. This wasn't all bad however a lot of the time I would bring it up to a previous boss and get asked why I was pursuing this issue. Only to get reassigned and have to work on something else.

The company has great benefits and pays well, along with having great people to work with. There is a lot of room to move up within the company.

Cons

Some downsides of working here are the long hours. It is tiresome to work every day and work very long shifts.
