Pros

Good benefits such as health subsidy reimbursement. Company matching 401K plan. (However you have to pay for parking (subsidized) which can take a large chunk out of your earnings. Deloitte will soon adopt a plan where they will no longer subsidize parking, placing the burden upon the employee. Partners will still receive subsidized parking.)

Cons

Management treats support staff as if they are expendable. They are overworked, mostly overburdened with petty personal requests and grossly underpaid. For the past two years raises have only been 1%. Further, Deloitte realigned the job titles for internal support staff whereby the salary ranges have been impacted negatively. If you were a manager for instance, you are now a supervisor and your earning potential has been reduced or significantly limited. The turnover rate at the firm is alarming.

Pros

- Good name to put on resume - Good pay - They're footprint gets them business, results are iffy at best

Cons

- Highly bureaucratic and inflexible culture - The consultants are so overworked (no life outside of Deloitte) that they are incredibly unpleasant to deal with - Cult like atmosphere - Work product isn't any better than medium or small sized firms can deliver. Deloitte just has the clout, the money and political pull to get contracts on that fact alone. In terms of quality, actual capabilities and professionalism, the average employee there is probably less effective than you would find elsewhere. - The projects I saw were mostly corpro-government types. Deloitte is so big because they are so closely aligned with the out of control US Gov spending. It's hard to work at a place when you see that their $800 a night dinners at 4 star restaurants and multi-million dollar a month 'consulting,' contracts are what is destroying the entire economic future of a nation.

Pros

Good consulting, challenging environment where you can push the limits of hard work. Metrics based organization.

Cons

Travel, poor work life balance. If you are in consulting you are okay. for Associate track it is horrible. You feel like a cog in the wheel.
