Pros

Great learning experience right out of college. It sounds very cliche, but the people you work with really are the best part of the company. For the most part, everyone is very helpful and wants to see you succeed. Build fundamental skills in Excel, manage multiple engagements at once and have good exposure to Sr. Managers & PPMDs. Benefits are excellent, pay is okay. 5 weeks PTO, $500 Wellness Subsidy, various Health Insurance Options, cell phone paid for.

Cons

I joined the practice when it still was under Deloitte Consulting (it recently moved to Finance & Administration under Deloitte Services). They sell this position as "Consulting" or being a "Trusted Business Advisor", but the truth is it is administrative work. The job is focused on the internal metrics of Consulting, Audit, Tax & Advisory engagements and you do not deal directly with the clients. Day to day tasks include auditing expenses, running burn reports, running standardized financial models, moving time/expenses to different codes, etc. (tasks that the client service professional don't want to do). Constant pressure from upper management to move more work to India. Personally, I felt that their long term strategy is to move most or all of the work offshore to India. Hard to transfer into Deloitte Consulting or Deloitte Advisory from Deloitte Services

Pros

perks, pay more than other places, cool people.

Cons

You cannot select what project you want to work, but the project will chose you. I was selected to a project that required me to work fully at night. Many weekends, I still had to be on call and the company did not give overtime. I decided to resign because i was no longer be able to work at night.

Pros

Good, but expensive benefits. Opportunities to travel domestically and internationally. Decent starting salary. Ability to work with smart, driven people.

Cons

The organization is ride with politics, favoritism, back-stabbing, and brown-nosing. You either drink the kool aid and play the game or you don't and get cast aside as an outsider who gets placed on crap projects/assignments. Way too much group think. Very weak pay raises, and recruiters will lie through their teeth about the high bonuses everyone gets (because, on average, they're not that high). You are essentially made to feel shame if you take PTO during times when it's not convenient for the firm. There is no true organization hierarchy, so your performance review is at the mercy of each 'manager' you work with on projects--and they don't have to tell you anything about the ratings they're submitting about you (which you have to request every few months), though they're supposed to have a conversation with you.
