Pros
-Potential room for advancement if you are proactive and lucky enough to support a PPMD that cares and see's your potential. -Enough downtime to get certifications and network to find a job that's fulfilling
Cons
-It's demoralizing to have to work out of an office segregated from the main Deloitte Deloitte office. Many outside of the ESC don't even know of the existence of this Executive Coordinator office or find it messed up. -Your enjoyment in this position is highly dependent on the PPMDs you'll support and the team you get stuck with. If a team member is not pulling their weight, complaints fall upon deaf ears. Management will give a runaround talk that will make you feel like they'll be remove a problematic team member from the group or something will change but nothing does. The personality of your PPMDs and their ability to see you as a fellow professional will either empower or make you feel at the bottom of the food chain. -Management will always side with PPMDs. I was verbally abused by a PPMD I supported which led me to seek therapy for anxiety. This particular person had a track record of burning out their admin support which management was aware of but failed to inform me of. Despite this and my own receipts of their behavior, management told me it's expected of me to keep doing my job. -Lack of recognition. I had PPMDs that wanted to give me monetary rewards for my performance but management redirected them to give me a pat on the back instead. -Management is often former Executive Coordinators promoted - they have a lack of insight how to grow in the company and lead effectively.
