Pros

high-quality factory-direct product, good product training, competitive salary

Cons

must relocate to promote because no cities other than Denver have multiple stores, few store manager positions come available to promote to so you stay at assistant manager level for years, high degree of inequality regarding in-house rules between Denver Mattress and the other stores than comprise the Furniture Row (e.g., "quarterly weekends off," promoting, incentive contests and rewards for sales, etc.)

Pros

Good training. Good co-workers. Lots of work to get done!

Cons

Too many to list. Upper management will lie right to your face. Must relocate to promote. "Paid" relocation is simply milage plus you get paid for 5 days. Most times the manager wants you to start the day you arrive. And who can blame them, by the time you arrive the poor manager may have worked as many at 30 days straight without a day off. The company moves at half the speed of smell. More hours that you can imagine. It is not uncommon for folks to work 13 days without a day off. 12 hours + every day but sunday. 6+ on Sunday. Your weekly 1/2 day will be about an 8 hour work day. Like to excersice? Good cause inaddition to all this you get unload trucks and work in the warehouse!!

Just to put on the record the average manager works under 50 hours a week and averages over $78K per year with some making in the $100K range. Very few companies offer these type of salaries plus too many other benefits to list.
